On March 3rd, Dr. Steven B. Wyrick, tritium program manager at Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL), visited the TEES Nuclear Security Science and Policy Institute. Dr. Wyrick presented a lecture titled “The National Nuclear Security Security Administration (NNSA) Tritium Supply Chain” to Texas A&M University nuclear engineering students in the graduate-level Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Nuclear Material Safeguards class (NUEN 651).
While at Texas A&M, Dr. Wyrick also visited the NSSPI nuclear security, safeguards, and radiochemistry laboratories and toured the TEEX Disaster City training facility.
A former member of the NNSA Defense Programs Science Council, Dr. Wyrick manages NNSA Defense Program applications at SRNL, including Tritium Supply Chain Management and Hydrogen Isotope Research and Development. He also serves as Management Oversight Chair for the Institute of Nuclear Materials Management.
