
Short Bio:
Nicholas Wehmann graduated with a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Engineering in May 2025 with a graduate certificate in Nuclear Security. Wehmann worked with Dr. Sunil Chirayath on the development of neutron coincidence and multiplicity counters using solid-state semiconductor thermal neutron detectors (Domino detectors). He received his B.S. from Oregon State University in Radiation Health Physics with minors in Political Science and Environmental Safety and Health, and his M.S. also from Oregon State University with a minor in Environmental Safety and Health. He has worked in multiple aspects of Health Physics, including: Internal and External Radiation Dosimetry, Operational Health Physics, Radiation Instrumentation, and Emergency Response. Currently Nicholas works as a Health Physicist at Los Alamos National Laboratory, providing radiation protection support to Weapons Facility Operations.
