The NSSPI/NEREC 2.0 Global Seminar Series is a monthly program hosted by the Center for Nuclear Security Science and Policy Initiatives (NSSPI) at Texas A&M University and sponsored by the Pacific Century Institute. The series brings leading experts in nuclear policy, security, and nonproliferation into conversation with students, early-career professionals, and members of the international nuclear community.
The program grew from a collaboration with the alumni network of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Education and Research Center (NEREC), founded by NSSPI Director Dr. Man-Sung Yim at KAIST. Through the NEREC 2.0 alumni initiative, the seminar series connects NEREC alumni with NSSPI students and the Texas A&M INMM Student Chapter, strengthening professional ties across an established international network.
Seminars explore timely issues in nuclear security, nonproliferation, deterrence, international affairs, and emerging challenges facing the global nuclear community. Each session is designed to foster substantive discussion while connecting the next generation of nuclear professionals with experienced scholars and practitioners.
