On Tuesday evening, February 18, 2014 NSSPI Director Dr. William Charlton gave a presentation at the Science Café at Revolutions Bar and Grill in downtown Bryan. The topic of his talk was “Using Technology to Deter Nuclear Terrorism,” and included discussions of nuclear forensics methods used to deny terrorists access to materials and field detection technologies used to detect materials outside of regulatory control.
The Science Café is a lecture series begun in the fall of 2007 to bring science topics to the public in the Bryan/College Station area. Once a month a speaker in the sciences, typically a faculty member at Texas A&M University, gives a presentation on a topic of relevance or interest to the general public. Questions from the audience are welcomed after each talk as a means of generating dialogue between area experts and the public.
