The April edition of the Health Physics Society newsletter featured an article about Jose (Paco) Trevino, a NSSPI student working with Dr. Craig Marianno.  Trevino’s research focuses on estimating radiation doses to search and rescue dogs in emergency-response scenarios. This involves calculating dose-rate conversion factors for internal and external dose pathways and developing a dose-assessment tool for canine handlers using the calculated dose-rate conversion factors.

Trevino has received fellowship and scholarship funding from the Health Physics Society during his time as a student at Texas A&M University.  He plans to graduate in 2016 and continue to work in the field of health physics.
