NSSPI NPI
Existing contacts with the management of the Ghana Atomic Energy
Commission (GAEC) were recently expanded. NPI and
NSSPI staff met with delegates from Ghana at the IAEA and discussed
a possible cooperative activity on human resources development for
the sun-Sahara countries, in which Ghana would be a host of a long
term education and training program under the IAEA/ US-Peaceful
Uses Initiative. The idea was well received by the Ghanaian
delegates. They recalled that GAEC in association with
the University of Ghana, already hosts an IAEA National Nuclear
Support Center for education and training on nuclear
security.
