NSSPI is an active member of several professional societies and regularly participates in their activities, including presenting papers at annual meetings and conferences and serving on committees.

We consider that participation in the larger community of nuclear engineering professionals through these societies serves an important role in the professional development of our students. NSSPI has founded the first ever student chapter of the INMM at Texas A&M University, which has provided additional leadership opportunities for our students. Moreover, participating in professional societies exposes our students to the broader implications of their work and allows them to see how they fit into the overall professional community.
