Foreign Field Experience in France: 2006

As part of the Russian Academic Program in Nonproliferation and International Security (RAPNIS) a Foreign Field Experience (FFE) was held in France from June 11-16, 2006. Six Russian students, two Russian professors, and two U.S. professors participated in the FFE. The objectives of the FFE are to allow the RAP-NIS students to develop an international perspective on nuclear security, have practical training in the nuclear fuel cycle including gain an understanding of the scale and complexity of nuclear fuel cycle facilities, acquire training in how nuclear material safeguards are implemented in Western facilities, and learn about other cultures.
