NSSPI Contributes to Nuclear Security Capacity-Building Training Course in China

The TEES Nuclear Security Science and Policy Institute (NSSPI) collaborated with Oak Ridge National Laboratory to develop instructional materials for a training course in nuclear security capacity-building in consultation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for professionals of IAEA member States from Asia and the Pacific region.  The course was conducted at the State Nuclear Security Training Center in Beijing, China. NSSPI Participates in International Nuclear Security Conference

In December, TEES Nuclear Security Science and Policy Institute (NSSPI) Instructional Designer Kelley Ragusa traveled to Vienna, Austria to participate in the IAEA International Conference on Nuclear Security: Commitments and Actions.  Ragusa delivered a presentation titled "Preparing the Next Generation of Nuclear Security Professionals-The Technology/Policy Nexus," which discussed nuclear security training and education being carried out at Texas A&M University by NSSPI and the Nuclear Power Institute (NPI). Ambassador Dengo of Costa Rica Visits with NSSPI Faculty and Students

The week of March 23, NSSPI hosted Ambassador Ana Teresa Dengo Benavides of Costa Rica.  Ambassador Dengo served an extensive term as Costa Rica's Ambassador to Austria and its Permanent Representative to the United Nations starting in August 2006.  She concurrently served as the Chairperson of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) Preparatory Commission for 2007.
